Optoma GT1080HDR: Reviews

Michael Bolton
I bought my son this projector for Halloween, and he loved it! He hooked it up to a fire stick and sound bar, which made the experience all the better. The GT1080HDR allows for smooth gameplay with no lag time (according to son), and the displayed picture is excellent. My son is very pleased with his gift.

The biggest issue with this projector is that it can’t actually project in 4K! This is a bit of false advertising for the GT1080HDR projector, as it can only read 4K signals, not actually project them…

Recently, I purchased and tested three projectors that were each around $400. These projectors are decent, but they don’t wow me at all.. After doing extensive research, I decided that this model was worth the extra money. The contrast ratio on the GT1080HDR is excellent, and the colors are accurate. It also looks great at 120 inches. Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase!

Optoma GT1080HDR: Final words

Optoma GT1080HDR is, without a doubt, the best projector that money can buy for gamers who are looking to spend $1,000 or less.

In fact, you would have difficulty finding any other projector with such a low input lag – no matter how much money you’re willing to spend.

Another excellent quality of the Optoma GT1080HDR is its versatility. A short-throw ratio, bright lamp, and tough image adjustment options make it appropriate for multiple room set-ups or outdoor use.

The Optoma company tries to improve two issues with the GT1080HDR — throw distance and faster refresh rate.

  1. In regards to the second, it excels with 1080p input.
  2. However, the shorter throw distance might causes some image quality problems.

But no matter, you would have to spend quite a lot more money elsewhere to get a better resolution than at GT1080HDR.

The Optoma GT1080HDR is an excellent choice if you’re looking for both performance and value. The only downside to this product is that the speakers aren’t very loud. But in our opinion, that’s not a big deal.
