History of ViewSonic Corporation
Company journey begins with a tiny distribution company that supplied computer peripherals to the US market. Keypoint Technology Corporation (ViewSonic from 1990) was founded in 1987 by James Chu, a citizen of the United States and a native of Taiwan.
ViewSonic is a widely known company that manufactures devices for visualization, such as projectors and monitors, as well as mobile devices like portable computers and wireless monitors. The ViewSonic story starts with a small distribution company supplying computer peripherals to the US market.
Viewsonic was established in 1990 by producing colorful computer monitors.
J. Chu wants their logo, which contains three iridescent amadin birds (or as they like to be called inside the company – The Finches), to showcase that the design technique is able to reflect nature’s colors authentically and vibrantly.
The name of the company, Viewsonic, is a combination of “View” and “Sonic”. This was done to allude to the fact that our images make sound.
